INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

It combines the functionalities of User and Role Management, Notice & Glossary. User management deals with registration of users having main components Authentication Management, User Accounts Management & Permissions. The notice functionality is to Create, Manage, display all kind of notifications within the campus or outside the campus, whereas Glossary would allow students and teachers participants to create and maintain a list of definitions, like a Wiki. This can be one of the modules that best illustrate the way the system can fundamentally improve upon the experience of a traditional classroom. When students contribute to a course in a public place like the glossary, their ideas are given weight and attention and often result in a greater pride or ownership of the assignment.

Grades Management

Helps manage the grades and scores for the students. Complete grade management system for students, roll ups available for semester end, year end and program end grading systems. Teachers can define their own scales to be used for grading forums and assignments. Assignments and all other activities and content can be specified with a due date and a maximum grade.

Examination Module

Teachers can conduct online exams related to the course or to the whole program. The test to be taken at any stage of the course and grading can be given based on results. Teachers can define a database of questions (Question Bank) for re-use in different exams. Exams can be automatically graded, and can be re-graded if questions are modified also Exams can have a limited time window outside of which they are not available.

COMMUNICATION MODULE

It combines the functionalities of E-mail, Chat, Discussion Boards & Mobile SMS. Email Box for each of the user (student, teacher, non teaching staff, parent etc) integrated with all other modules to provide real-time information. Chat allows students and teachers to interact in real time text messaging, it allows smooth, synchronous text interaction, and moreover it includes profile pictures in the chat window. Discussion Board allows students and teachers to start a discussion forum. They can be a standard forum for general use, a participant posted discussion, question and answer forum among others. This is the most important module to the whole system, this module allow content authors (content team or teachers) to develop internal content or to upload several external objects/ resources to the course, such as any electronic content, Word, Power point, Flash, Video, Audio etc. Author can add resource in terms of web pages & can be linked to website/ web page or a file.

TIME TABLE

Create & manage timetables across the campus, display individual timetables, manage any time, room, teacher or resource conflicts.

ONLINE TUTORIALS

This module would allow teachers to make tutorials on the system, a tutorial is a series of pages/slides which can be presented in a linear fashion, like a slide show, or in a non-linear manner, or in a combination of the two. Some of the features are - Navigation through the tutorial can be straight-forward or complex, logical or random pages. Allow students’ to answer questions directed by the teacher within the tutorial. Offers different scoring and grading potentials, Student attempts, time limits, minimum score and retakes can be set etc.

HOSTEL MANAGEMENT

This module automates the hostel and manages all activities related to a hostel. This module would facilitate - Reservation and allocation of rooms, managing room facilities, Visitor records, House keeping and cafeteria management etc.

This module automates the basic inventory and asset related activities for the institution. This module features - Bus/Cab stop & route allocation to student/staff, number of students on each stop/route, number of stops on each route, maintenance of vehicle log book, vehicle tax & insurance information, vehicle maintenance schedule and vehicle requisition for various occasions.

ASSIGNMENT MANAGEMENT

This module offers functionality for teachers to direct assignments to students, getting them back (Submissions) and grading them. Some of the features are - Students can upload their assignments (any file format) to the server - they are date stamped, late assignments handling, teacher can choose to allow resubmission of assignments after grading (for Re-grading).

COURSE MANAGEMENT

This module would be used to manage the courses such as adding a course, deleting editing etc. Features that will be offered in this module are –

  • Choice of course offered on a daily, weekly or monthly format.
